My best contribution to GMU

I was a professor of history at GMU for 27 years ago. In retrospect, my greatest contribution to George Mason was casting the deciding vote to give Roy his job at GMU. There was a four person search committee and the vote was 2 to 1 in favor of another candidate. My vote for Roy [after listening to a brilliant guest lecture] made the vote 2 to 2 and allowed the Chair to offer the position to Roy. The rest, as they say,
is history.
